Meet the Banton family. They have decided it’s time for a bit of a spruce-up of their grandmother’s home. They want to upgrade the front entrance and bay window to create a more modern and weatherproof look for their home.
The first step was to consult with the Banton family to understand their needs and preferences. We discussed their vision and budget for the project and determined that a new UPVC door and frame with a window above to form a weatherproof porch would be ideal. We also talked about the need to dispose of the existing door and frame and scrape off loose paint from the ground floor bay window ledge and masonry pillars.
We showed the family samples and designs. We also helped them understand the impact of their choices. Sometimes when we do this type of job, the choices can seem overwhelming. This wasn’t the case here and once we’d gone through the options a decision was made quickly.
Once we had a clear understanding of the Banton family’s preferences, we started planning the project. We sourced the materials needed for the new porch and made arrangements for the disposal of the old door and frame.
We also made sure to schedule the project at a time that was convenient for the family and would cause the least disruption to their daily routine.
On the day of the installation, our team arrived on time and began the process of removing the old door and frame.
We carefully installed the new UPVC door and frame with a window above to create a weatherproof porch. We made sure that everything was secure and functioning properly before we left for the day.
The next day, we returned to the site to start work on the ground floor bay window ledge and masonry pillars. We scraped off the loose paint, prepared the surfaces, and painted them with two coats of Sandtex masonry paint in a colour that matched the existing decor.
The painting was completed to the family’s satisfaction, and they were pleased with the final result.
After completing the project, we conducted a final inspection to make sure everything was up to standard. We also cleaned up the area, leaving it tidy and free from debris.
The Banton grandmother’s home has been transformed with the installation of a new UPVC door and frame with a window above to form a weatherproof porch and the repainting of the ground floor bay window ledge and masonry pillars. The project was completed on time, within budget, and to their satisfaction. We’re happy to have played a part in improving their home and look forward to working with them again in the future.
