The project involves removing the existing downstairs bathroom suite and radiator, excavating outside to uncover the existing soil pipe ready for a new connection, and installing a new bathroom suite upstairs.
The existing downstairs bathroom suite is outdated, cramped, and not functional. Users face multiple problems while using the bathroom, such as lack of space, outdated features, and the inefficient layout. Moreover, the bathroom suite and radiator are old and worn out, which makes them difficult to use and maintain.
The goal of this case study is to share a bathroom space that is intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable to use. By doing so, we aim to provide a comfortable and functional bathroom space with modern features for the users and to inspire you to have a bathroom that you love.
Bathrooms benefit from towel radiators. Most families place their damp towels on the radiator anyway, so it makes sense to remove the old, shabby white radiator and prepare the bathroom for something fresh and modern.
Making sure that the electricals in the bathroom are safe and not exposed to water is important.
Excavating outside is a big job and can take 4 or 5 days, or 2 very long days for one person. Please note the photo isn’t of a soil pipe. These are white, black or grey. The photo is of a copper pipe coming from the bathroom to the outside.
There’s a lot that takes place before we can install the new bathroom, and that means removing all the old tiles and flooring, as well as plastering and making safe any areas that need it. Installing the bath suite itself can take 2 weeks.
We’re in the final stretch of the bathroom renovation job, and this stage is about making the connections for both the basin and the bath…
As you can see the bath isn’t your ordinary rectangle! It’s also designed for a shower. We’re also running pipes to fit the new positions.
This is a safety step – you don’t want wet hands touching a switch containing a live wire. Water and electricity are not a good combination.
Our final photo is partially of the splashback, but also of where we started out with the radiator. As you can see there’s plenty of space for damp towels, and it’s big enough to keep the room warm.
If you’re looking to turn your current bathroom into a safe, warm modern space give us a call or contact us . From start to finish the bathroom took 4 weeks to complete.
